Scottish job creation rate up slightly, says Bank of Scotland

Job creation in the private sector in Scotland occurred at a marginally higher rate in July than in June, finds the Bank of Scotland’s Purchasing Managers’ Index, which surveyed 600 firms across the services and manufacturing industry.
Mon, 13 Aug 2012Job creation in the private sector in Scotland occurred at a marginally higher rate in July than in June, finds the Bank of Scotland’s Purchasing Managers’ Index, which surveyed 600 firms across the services and manufacturing industry.Within the manufacturing industry, the rate of job growth actually slowed to a near-standstill, but this was offset by gains in the services sector. The composite employment index rose from 51.4 last month, to 51.5. It had previously stood at 50 in May, which indicates neither net job creation nor shedding of jobs.
