Sacrifice of the day
Does the magnanimity of the UK's recruitment bosses know no bounds? Two senior figures at Sheffield-based Public Recruitment Group have selflessly given up their right to some share options.
Does the magnanimity of the UK's recruitment bosses know no bounds? Two senior figures at Sheffield-based Public Recruitment Group have selflessly given up their right to some share options. Chief executive Darren McLaney has given up options to buy 521,259 shares at 145p each. Finance director Nick Williams has given up 200,000 options at 126.5p. This may not be as generous as it looks. The attraction of share options is the ability to buy shares at below the prevailing market price. PRG shares have recently been trading at about 38p, and haven't been above 46p in the last year. Perhaps not such a great sacrifice after all. A bit like the manager of Watford saying he's giving up the right to receive any bonus he'll get for winning the Premier League this year.
