Meet Kelly Simpson, branch manager at Parkhouse Recruitment in Cardiff – and part-time model.

Simpson, 24, was plucked from obscurity while out with friends six months ago by a modelling agent, who thought she had the looks to make it in the highly competitive world of modelling.

Now Kelly has jetted off to Martinique to represent Wales in the finals of the prestigious Miss Model International 2005 competition, with the winner scooping a £40,000 prize.

The event will be publicised on satellite channel Fashion TV and ITV’s This Morning.

But despite her new-found success, Kelly says she still wants to continue as a recruitment consultant.

“If I win I will use the money to buy a new house. But I’ll always love recruitment and have a real passion for it.

“My company has been very supportive and they are fantastic about my modelling – but I see it as a hobby to do at weekends.”
