Roberts gets EU voice

Newly-appointed chief executive of the REC has been elected on to European lobbying body

Marcia Roberts, the chief executive of the Recruitment and Employment Confederation (REC), has been elected to the Euro-CIETT board.

Roberts will represent the interests of the UK’s recruitment industry on the eight-strong board of Euro-CIETT, the European Confederation of Private Employment Agencies.

Euro-CIETT is the representative body for the European recruitment industry, which is made up of national federations from other European countries, and takes forward the industry’s lobbying activities in Brussels.

“It is good news for the UK that the REC is at the heart of European industry lobbying,” says Roberts.

"It is also good news for British industry that we are in a strong position to work collectively with our European partners to promote the good work the employment industry carries out across Europe, while at the same time, leading the call to reduce red tape and bureaucracy.”
