Staffing giant Adecco has increased the number of specific retail branches it operates as the sector enjoys a boost in business.

Despite concerns over a drop in consumer spending after high-street sales worsened in March this year, the sector has the highest number of jobs created of any other sector for the second month running, according to last month’s Adecco/Mandis Job Creation Index.

New vacancies in the retail sector accounted for 43% of all new jobs created in March, or more than 24,000 positions.
