Recruiters in new Rich List
A scattering of faces from the world of recruitment featured in this year’s Sunday Times Rich List.
The richest recruitment figure in the list is Adecco’s Philippe Foriel-Destezet, who returned to the firm as co-chairman last year after a boardroom reshuffle. Foriel-Destezet has a £977m stake in Adecco and also owns smaller stakes in non-recruitment companies, making him worth almost £1.3bn. He lives in London and ranks as the 31st richest person in the UK.
Also appearing on the list was John Smith, worth £70m, who started Manchester-based Vital Resources in 1992. Vital places around 20,000 workers a year in sectors from rail to construction. Alec Reed, founder of Reed Health and Reed Executive, is worth £59m and ranked joint 776th.
Featuring for the first time on the list was Penny Streeter, founder of nursing agency Ambition24Hours. Her personal wealth is estimated at around £50m, ranking her joint 938th.
