Global recruiter announces revenue growth

Michael Page, the global recruitment consultancy, has reported a bumper year of revenue growth, with total profits up 18%.

In a trading statement it said full year revenue for 2004 was set to be £210.6m, up from the £178.5m recorded in 2003.

Improvements across all regions saw fourth-quarter gross profit increase by 23.9% to £56.6m, compared with £45.7m in 2003.

In the UK, fourth quarter revenues were up by 20.6%, with the full year total estimated at £110.0m, an increase of 21.4%.

Continental Europe recorded a fourth quarter revenue rise of 21.5%. Full year revenue is set to be £61.5m, an increase of 5.5%.

Asia Pacific revenues were up 33.6% in the fourth quarter, with an estimated 26% rise in the full year total to £31.5m.

In the Americas, where the firm added a new office in Chicago, fourth-quarter revenues were up 57.4%, with the full year total estimated at £7.6m, an increase of 65.5%.

Chief executive Terry Benson said: “The fourth quarter saw continuing growth in the UK, Asia Pacific and The Americas and it is encouraging to report improved market conditions in Continental Europe towards the end of the year.”
