Page looks to the other city
Michael Page’s scheme to give youngsters a 12-week introduction to the world of recruitment takes an innovative approach to tackling the industry’s consultant crisis.
The firm has teamed up with not-for-profit organisation The Brokerage to give post-A-level students from inner–city schools an insight into the world of recruitment, which may not be a considered career option for them.
The students will be placed in some of Michael Page’s London offices where they will be involved in several disciplines including marketing. They will also shadow consultants during candidate interviews.
Sapna Sharma, a managing consultant for internal recruitment at the firm, believes the initiative will help the teenagers and Michael Page: “We’re expecting lots of innovative ideas from the students. It’s going to be a learning curve for us, too.”
