Outsourcing benefits UK

New study challenges offshoring myths

British job losses from outsourcing is a misleading stereotype according to a government-funded study.

A report published today by the Advanced Institute of Management Research shows that the influx of offshoring has had a positive effect on British companies from foreign businesses.

The most commonly cited examples, such as Indian call centres, are only half of the picture.

The report was published as a Mori survey commissioned by the Confederation of British Industry (CBI) and Alba, the electronics group, showed that more than half of all UK businesses which have chosen to move operations abroad are also creating jobs in the UK.
