Scottishjobs.com launches service
A Scottish job-board has launched an employment advice service for blind and partially sighted people looking for work.
The service on Scottishjobs.com uses technology which provides Braille displays and reads on-screen information aloud.
Managing director Pat Kelly said he hoped the service would help introduce more blind people to the labour market.
He added: “We hope to raise awareness and to encourage people with a disability to pursue work in their chosen careers.”
Recent statistics by the Royal National Institute for the Blind (RNIB) showed that three-quarters of blind and partially sighted people are unemployed.
