NewLife, the charitable project that specialised in training recruitment manager to handle applications from ex-offenders safely and legally, has overcome the threat of closure by being incorporated into the trading arm of London Action Trust.

The project, renamed NewLife Solutions, has expanded its range of training courses to cover the Criminal Records Bureau’s Code of Practice, understanding criminal offences, and interviewing ex-offenders.

London Action Trust’s chair of trustees, Steven Norris, said: “With so much confusion currently surrounding how to comply with the Criminal Record Bureau’s regulations and who businesses can and can’t safely recruit, we’re very pleased that organisations across the UK will continue to have access to the knowledge and expertise NewLife Solution’s training consultants have built up.”
