Petrolheads can get into the fast lane to win a six-month contract with a top Formula One team, courtesy of global recruiter Monster.

The firm has teamed up with engineering and technology specialist Altran Technologies to support an engineering academy competition for students and recent graduates.

Entrants must develop a six-month plan to improve safety, reliability or performance in the sport.

The winner will earn a placement with F1 constructor's championship leader Renault at its Oxford base.
