Manpower turns to Cahill

Former boss of Brook Street to replace Tony Howard

Recruitment giant Manpower has a new managing director. Mark Cahill was formerly managing director of Brook Street, also part of the Manpower group. He replaces Tony Howard who takes on the role of non-executive chairman of both Manpower UK and Brook Street.

Cahill has been in recruitment for over 17 years, joining Brook Street after a manufacturing career. His career at Brook Street included roles in financial administration, purchasing, general services and IT.

Yoav Michaely, the firm’s executive vice president and managing director, said Cahill was a “natural leader”.

Margaret Jones, currently chief operating officer of Brook Street, will step into Cahill’s shoes at Brook Street. She joined the company in 1974, becoming chief operating officer in 2004.

Cahill said: “Manpower has a deserved reputation for delivering excellence in recruitment. These are exciting times for the company as Manpower seeks to grow its business and reinforce its position as a leading authority in the UK employment industry.

“Tony Howard has done an excellent job in refocusing and developing the company,” he added. “I look forward to building on his many successes.”
