Sitcoms exaggerate work environment situations and can provide trainers with thought-provoking examples to break the ice on training days, the BBC claims.

Many companies have been accused of not training their managers properly, so the BBC developed a multimedia training package to combat the problem.

The package presents motivational material using computer, video and book formats and includes an interactive virtual office that challenges users to complete tasks and see the consequences of their actions.

The BBC has produced the package in conjunction with the Chartered Management Institute. The course allows participants to pursue their studies at their own rate.
