Our awards decisions have been made

The winners of this year's recruitment Oscars have now been decided by a panel of distinguished industry judges and will be named at a gala ceremony next month.

The judges have whittled down hundreds of entries to decide on the winners of the 2006 Recruiter Awards for Excellence.

The ceremony, supported by Thomas International, will be held on 30 March at the Grosvenor House hotel

in London.

A panel of 19 judges considered entries across the various categories in a field that contained some of the biggest names on the recruitment scene.

Benchmarking expert Romney Rawes, one of the judges, said the winners represented the cream of the industry and that recruiters should follow their innovative example.

“Hopefully the awards will provide some recognition for the best performers,” he said.

“These awards will demonstrate that there is room for innovation and creativity in recruitment, and that these qualities breed success.”

Another judge, Toni Cocozza of recruitment firm DP Connect, said the winners provided evidence of how each of them went the extra mile in their particular fields.

“Going beyond the call of duty and giving something back to the industry is a key part of winning,” she said. “Sometimes the contribution to the client, to the industry as a whole and to the wider community, can be more important than just money.”
