Workers feel that being stimulated by their job is more important than what they earn, according to new research.
In a survey commissioned by Thames Valley based agency Parkside Recruitment, 62% of respondents thought variety was the spice of work, with a repetitive and heavy workload the main cause of job dissatisfaction.
Jennie Emerson, Parkside’s managing director, said: “More companies are starting to realise that not all employees need to work a traditional nine to five day in the office to be effective.
“However, there’s still a long way to go and factors such as lack of affordable childcare make it difficult for some mothers to work even part-time.”
