Nearly two in three (63%) of human resources managers say their company frequently conducts job interviews via video – up from just 14% last year.

In fact within this, 53% of the 500 US HR managers interviewed by admin recruiter OfficeTeam said they conduct these interviews ‘very often’, compared to just 1% last year.

Also, the numbers who ‘never’ use video has dropped from 42% to 25%.

However, it would seem that the growth of the last year is now ready to stall – 85% of HR managers said they envisaged no change in the use of video in interviews over the next three years, albeit that 12% said they would increase it somewhat.

OfficeTeam has provided a number of tips for jobseekers when participating in video interviews, including testing the computer, video and microphone before use, and avoiding wearing bold patterns and colours that don’t show up well on video.
