Why do people leave their jobs?

Most men would consider looking for a new job if assigned a younger boss, while most women would look at quitting from overtime demands.

These are some of the recent findings from HR consultancy Rialto, which asked 440 employees in London, Manchester, Glasgow and Oxford their views on what would make them change jobs.

Over half (54%) of men stated they would look for a new job if assigned a younger boss, while 73% of women stated they would leave due to excessive overtime demands.

Nearly three quarters (74%) of those questioned would leave their job if the business moved location.

Richard Chiumento, director of Rialto Consultancy, said: “This research points out that people are still wary of change and that firms need to continue to handle changes with extreme care and skill.”
