From the horse’s mouth
A new division specialising in all things equestrian has launched to provide staff for the horse industry.
Following several years working for two IT recruitment firms, founder Mark Maguire spotted a gap in the market and decided to go back to his roots.
His father is a horse dealer and several members of his family including his wife and daughter – and Maguire himself – are keen riders. Maguire has competed in show-jumping at a national and an international level.
“Today’s equine market is an ever changing one, the horse world today is vastly different to 10 years ago,” Maguire said.
In 1993, a stable hand could typically earn £75 a week, he said. Today that figure was more like £10,000 –£15,000 a year.
The division will provide staff nationally, across all disciplines from stable hand to professional riders.
It has also launched a job board to work alongside the business.
