HIGHER EDUCATION RECRUITMENT
There is a boom in the number of people seeking university and research jobs, according to one recruiter who works in the sector.
Andrew Gordon, director of jobs.ac.uk, says it is the huge variety of jobs in these sectors that is attracting so much interest: “The way most people approach their careers is changing radically. They are increasingly drawn to a range of sectors they may not have explored before because of the interesting jobs available and the opportunities to apply and develop their specialist skills. The types of jobs on offer include management, marketing, academic or business development roles.
“Talented people are now looking beyond the commercial sector to plan their next career move. Universities also are ramping up their recruitment campaigns, increasing their brand awareness online and are becoming increasingly web-savvy in order to attract the growing number of online jobseekers.”
