GREEN RECRUITMENT

Recruiters should act now

Recruitment agencies must take responsibility for the environment and drive change before more unwanted ‘red tape’ is introduced, according to specialist business finance provider Bibby Financial Services.

It says by adopting sustainable business practices, and following best practice, the benefits of environmental self-regulation extend far beyond the planet.

Bibby Financial Services spokesperson for recruitment, Ed Rimmer, says: “Owners and managers in the recruitment sector who adopt a ‘green code’ stand to set themselves apart from less conscious competitors and gain positive PR for their business. Having green credentials can also have a huge impact on companies as more and more customers are seeking suppliers who are environmentally aware.

“Businesses who take steps today to address their impact on the planet will help avoid the introduction of complex legislation in the future, which could cost them far more in the long term.”

Bibby advises recruiters to make a start by talking to suppliers, take small steps, and most importantly publicise the commitment to the environment.
