Union seeks new law to give temps equal rights
The GMB has welcomed the call from Jon Cruddas MP for the government to get on with the new laws that give agency and temporary workers the same rights as permanent workers.
The union has called on all Labour MPs to sign the Early Day Motion that has been lodged at the House of Commons.
GMB organiser, Justin Bowden, said: “The Labour Party has been promising Britain’s hundred of thousands of people who have temporary jobs, or get their work through agencies, the same rights at work as the rest of the country’s permanent employees. They still do not have these rights. GMB joins Jon Cruddas in telling the government to get on with delivering these new laws.”
