Follow the leaders
UK companies are experiencing a major shortage of effective leaders, with more than two thirds of employers struggling to find the right person to lead an organisation.
Multinational companies are also finding it difficult to get capable, experienced leaders across a range of countries and cultures, new research has revealed.
A study by the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) has highlighted the major difficulties faced by firms in developing and attracting leadership talent.
Frances Wilson, international manager at the CIPD has urged employers to establish global leadership qualities that are accepted across all locations.
“It is important to develop an international corporate identity and create brand values which have meaning internationally. Employers must then encourage managers across all locations to develop an international mindset,” she said.
