Firm in call for language skills

Government urged to pay for immigrant lessons
Recruiters would benefit if the government funded language courses for eastern European immigrants. That’s the claim made by Kathy McBride, director of Glasgow firm Topstaff Employment.
McBride explained that many of the workers from places like Latvia already had a good understanding of basic English. “Maybe the government should make funding available over a two-year period and there are several courses that would be suitable,” she said.
