Greatfleet profit grows

Greatfleet has reported its turnover rose to £11.4m in the year to 31 December 2006, up from £1.6m in 2005.

Gross profit increased to £6.9m in 2006, up from £1.3m in the previous year.

Chairman Jonathan Hill said: “Although challenging, the last year has been a success evidenced by a return to profitability for the first time in several years.

"The Board, led by chief executive Stuart Blake, has added value to the company by successfully refocusing the business on core recruitment markets, and streamlining the business by disposing of peripheral activities.

“Current market conditions and the recent fund raising mean that we can now look toward the future with increased confidence.”

In the year the company launched Longbridge Selection and acquired Johnstones Recruitment Solutions.
