UCI Cinemas has launched an online recruitment service to help it recruit more workers at peak times such as the release of this summer’s Harry Potter sequel.

The company is using online recruiter Workthing’s PeopleBank technology for its recruitment website, which has attracted almost 3,000 hits since it went live in April.

As well as advertising frontline staff roles, the site will also publish internal vacancies at UCI such as finance, marketing and IT.

Christine Castell, UCI’s HR manager for UK and Ireland, said the new online system significantly reduced both the time and cost of hiring employees. “Lots of people don’t think about a career in the cinema and they may look at some of the roles we have and see there are many varied opportunities,” she said.
