In Australia, human resources company Chandler Macleod has relaunched its engineering recruitment arm, Entec, amid expectations a shortage of engineers is set to worsen. The company said the staffing shortfall, estimated at about 18,000 engineers, was showing no sign of easing in the next three to five years, with the resources and construction sectors most affected. Upcoming projects such as the Olympic Dam Expansion in South Australia, and numerous infrastructure developments throughout Australia are likely to increase the shortage, the company said.
