ECI Contracts in administration

London-based firm entered administration

Recruitment firm ECI Contracts, based in Holborn, London, went into administration earlier this year, Recruiter has learned.

Records filed with The London Gazette have revealed administrator Begbies Traynor was appointed on 10 March.

The firm is part of a group of companies using the ECI name listed at an address in High Holborn.

ECI Contracts’ payroll division, which operated from the same address but was listed separately at Companies House, was dissolved in March last year.

Another company at the Holborn address, ECI Human Capital, was formed in 1991

and recruits in financial services, technology, IT, professional services, life sciences, social care and the public sector.

Run by chief executive Ian Simpson, ECI was listed by The Sunday Times as the 13th fastest growing company in the UK in its ‘Fast Track 100’ list in 2001.

Between 1996 and 1999 it demonstrated annual growth of 122.4% from £486,000 to £5.3m and reported a turnover of £13.9m in September 2000.

Recruiter understands that ECI Human Capital is still trading. Mark Fairbrother, finance director, refused to comment.
