CSG announces new structure
Corporate Services Group (CSG) has announced the appointment of Tony Martin as executive chairman from 1 January 2005 as the company introduces a new decentralised structure.
Martin, the former chairman of the global recruitment giant Vedior, was originally appointed as strategic adviser to the board to help find a replacement for Mark
Adams, who stepped down as chief executive of CSG in September.
The company is in the process of moving from a centralised businesses with a single brand to a decentralised model with a number of brands.
CSG is currently segmenting into separately branded niche businesses run by their own management teams which the board hopes will foster a culture of entrepreneurialism.
A trading statement said: “This will drive increased business performance through improved accountability, will reduce corporate administration and will provide a sound platform for growth.”
The different segments include executive search and selection (Austin Benn), general staffing (Blue Arrow) and doctor locum (Medacs and PRN).
Martin, executive chairman elect, commented: “I look forward to working with chief operating officer and group finance director Desmond Doyle, CSG’s other directors and the executive management to build shareholder value through the existing operations and the implementation of a development programme.”
Julian Treger will stand down as executive chairman but will remain on on the board in the short-term as a non-executive director.
