A trade association for nursing recruitment agencies has launched a new service to help them win places on the NHS’s preferred supplier list.

The NHS Purchasing and Supply Authority is currently auditing agencies which supply nurses to the health service in London and the West Midlands. Agencies that aren’t up to scratch will be barred from trading with NHS hospitals.

In response to this, the Nurses Agencies Association (NAA) has produced an “Agency Healthcheck” to help members pass the audit.

The check takes a full day and consultants produce a report within 48 hours, showing which areas are in need of attention and how to go about rectifying them.
