Delayed Adecco figures out next month

Adecco has announced a date for the publication of its full-year results, which had been delayed after auditors uncovered accounting irregularities when they were initially due to be released in February.

The company expects to publish the results on 20 April, which coincides with the publication of Adecco’s results for the first quarter of 2004.

A shareholders’ meeting on 26 May will elect a new board of directors after the furore over the delays sparked the resignation of chief financial officer Felix Weber and the head of Adecco Staffing North America Julio Arrieta.

Investigations into the firm’s accounting problems, which had included concerns over the security of its IT system, found no evidence of major fraud or financial problems that could damage the recruitment company’s future.

Adecco claimed its sales have grown faster this February than they did in the same period last year.
