IT recruitment company BCL International has acquired online recruitment firm SquarePegs & RoundHoles Recruitment for an undisclosed sum.

BCL hopes the acquisition will allow it to expand the business into other industry sectors including the facilities, technical maintenance and construction markets.

Group managing director Jonathan Hughes confirmed that restructuring the company last year had enabled BCL to make another acquisition this year, but he was unable to give any further details of the deal. BCL planned to make a further acquisition in the first quarter of 2004, he added.

Hughes said the acquisition had “given us strong presence in mainland Europe. We look forward to developing the BCL proposition further in the near future.”
