Supermarket plans to open new stores
Supermarket group Asda is planning to create 60,000 jobs by opening at least 15 new stores this year.
The firm’s UK expansion plans include new stores in Frome in Somerset, Brynmawr in south Wales and Cape Hill in Birmingham.
Asda’s proposals, worth £600m, also include 20 investment schemes and five non-food outlets.
The UK’s second biggest supermarket chain has also begun work on a new supercentre as part of a regeneration scheme in Milton Keynes.
