Adecco targets new areas

Education and healthcare on list of targets

Recruitment giant Adecco has identified education and healthcare as key drivers of its future growth, and is setting up a network of branches to service those sectors.

Adecco’s health and social care division began trading last month, recruiting staff across the sector including social workers, occupational therapists and registered nurses. The division currently has two branches in London and Birmingham and the plan is for it to grow organically, said Richard MacMillan (pictured), managing director of Adecco UK and Ireland.

The company is also about to launch a specialist education division. “As many of the supply teachers come from abroad, Adecco’s global network provides the opportunity to recruit trained teachers from overseas,” he explained.

Its Woolwich branch already recruits in this sector, but again the plan is to grow a UK-wide branch network specialising in education.
