Workthing introduces new services

Jobsite targets recruitment agencies with online startup product

Workthing has introduced two new services. It will have an area on its site dedicated to IT contractors and will also launch an Application Service Provider (ASP) product for companies aiming to start their own online recruitment service.

The new IT contractor channel will feature current contract positions and has been specifically designed to meet the needs of agencies.

It has simplified vacancy inputting and a results display that has been tailored to the needs of contractors.

The new service also includes Smartmatch, a system that aims to reduce the time involved in the recruitment process, with captured information on individuals’ career ambitions and online interviewing.

Workthing’s recruitment ASP will be available on four of the Guardian Unlimited newspaper’s sites: Guardian Unlimited Jobs, MediaGuardian.co.uk, EducationGuardian.co.uk and SocietyGuardian.co.uk.

It will include a job board service with job posting, searching and online application functions, a CV database creator and a site management and hosting service.

Harjinder Singh-Heer, Workthing director of business development, said: ‘Recruiters and publishers have responded very favourably to Workthing’s technology. Now we can make it available to them to power their own jobsites.’
