Over a third (35%) of UK contractors would be prepared to travel over 100 miles to work if they thought it was the right position.

Another 17% would travel 50-100 miles, and only 18% said they would not travel over 25 miles, according to a survey of over 1,000 contractors undertaken by umbrella company FPS and jobs site contractjobs.com.The survey also found relatively neutral levels of confidence for finding that job, with 42% of respondents saying that on a scale of one to five, their level of confidence was ‘three’ when it came to being able to find the right job opportunities over the next 12 months.

Meanwhile, 32% stood at the less confident end of the scale, answering ‘one’ or ‘two’, while 25% opted for one of the two more confident values.
