INTERNATIONAL US: Java in demand across the board in top tech job cities

Java developer was the most popular job title across all five of the US cities with the biggest number of technical jobs in June 2012.

Java developer was the most popular job title across all five of the US cities with the biggest number of technical jobs in June 2012.

This is according to talent market insight firm WANTED Analytics, which shows that New York was the city with the most tech jobs in June, at 53,186, also a 6% year-on-year rise, followed by Washington (49,112 jobs, up 7.5%) and then San Francisco, Los Angeles and Chicago, where job postings were up by 21%, 13.6% and 21.3% respectively.

In all five of these cities, Java developer was the most in-demand job, followed by project manager in four of the cities, the exception being San Francisco.

WANTED found senior software engineer in second place on San Francisco’s list, with software engineer in third and these two job titles also both appeared on Washington’s and Los Angeles’ lists.
