Video screening and interviewing technology firm OVIA has received a major investment from strategic partner firm, Japanese recruitment consultancy Recruit.
OVIA will rebrand as Wowzer, which is intended by the company to be a more “memorable, fun” name.The funding is led by venture capital firm DCM, whose co-founder and general partner Davis Chao now serves on the Wowzer board. He previously worked at Recruit, and is also a board member at Chinese HR recruiter 51job.
Masumi Minegishi, president and chief executive of Recruit, says: “Video screening will be a key factor in recruitment efforts around the globe.
“By investing in the technology at Wowzer, we have an important hand in contributing to that trend.”
