INTERNATIONAL US: Indiana, Michigan, Ohio to gain 325 care jobs

Care provider Great Lakes Caring is to create 225 home health and hospice jobs in Michigan and a further 100 in Indiana and Ohio in 2012.

Care provider Great Lakes Caring is to create 225 home health and hospice jobs in Michigan and a further 100 in Indiana and Ohio in 2012.

The hiring is already underway, and will be directed from five new home health and hospice offices.Chief executive William Deary says: “As of January first of this year, each day over 8,000 baby boomers turn 65 and become eligible for [national medical care financial support] Medicare home health and hospice services.

“The more than 300 jobs we will fill represent an economic investment by our company of over $21m [£13m] in wages, benefits, local taxes and infrastructure in 2012.”

The firm currently employs over 1,100 people in the three states.
