INTERNATIONAL US: March sees online vacancies up 250,000

The number of online advertised job vacancies in the US in March rose by 246,300 from the previous month, to 4,669,600, according to data from The Conference Board.

The number of online advertised job vacancies in the US in March rose by 246,300 from the previous month, to 4,669,600, according to data from The Conference Board.

The supply/demand ratio remains at 2.9 unemployed people for every vacancy, with the unemployed outnumbering vacancies by 8.4m.

The Southern region saw the largest online jobs growth, of 74,700 extra vacancies, with gains in all six of its largest states, including 19,000 in Texas.

The metropolitan area with the largest rise in online jobs posted was San Francisco, up 7%.
