Discount retailer Dealz is due to recruit for 300 new jobs at 10 new stores by the end of the financial year.

The firm, which is part of UK-based Poundland, currently has nine stores in Ireland. Goods at its Irish stores are generally priced €1.49 (£1.23).New stores will come in Clonmel, Lisduggan and Mullingar, among other locations.

Since the company launched in Ireland in August 2011, it has created over 300 jobs and invested over €2m into the economy.

Karl Stewart, director of DTZ Sherry FitzGerald, one of two property agents for Dealz, says: “Dealz will have opened 10 stores in Ireland in a relatively short period of time, which is testament to their professional team and the quick decision making process.

“The success of these openings demonstrates to landlords what a positive addition Dealz is, not only as a retailer, but as a footfall driver to local towns.”
