Digital recruitment group Evenbase has acquired the world’s second largest job search engine, Jobrapido, for €30m [£24.7m].

The deal provides Evenbase and its brand portfolio – which includes Jobsite, OilCareers and Broadbean – with access to one of the world’s largest candidate audiences and will speed up the DMGT-owned group’s entry into new international markets. “This acquisition benefits every part of the group,” Evenbase chief executive Keith Potts told Recruiter in an exclusive interview.
Established in 2006 by Vito Lomele, who remains chief executive, Jobrapido delivers 660m visits per year in more than 50 countries and 16 languages.

The acquisition of the Milan-based job aggregator will also propel Evenbase into the top five global recruitment brands by audience, joining indeed, Monster, CareerBuilder, LinkedIn, according to digital market intelligence provider comScore figures from March 2012.

“Last month, Jobsite had 5m unique visitors; Jobrapido had 32m…we’ve gone from 5m to 37m,” Potts said.

Integration of Jobrapido into Evenbase’s New Ventures division, led by divisional managing director Ray Duggins, will begin today [Monday, 16 April 2012]. Jobrapido will retain its own identity, employees and management team.
