Last year’s expansion in the UAE job market is set to continue in 2012, according to the Dubai-based recruiter the Gulf Recruitment Group.

In a report looking at the prospects for 2012, it says that 93% of businesses surveyed plans to hire during the opening quarter of 2012. However, the reports notes that many employers are proceeding with caution. The receipt and placement of live mandates grew by 46% in 2011 compared to 2010, and this trend is expected to continue, says the group, which specialises in marketing, sales, finance, engineering, and HR.

Fast moving consumer goods, pharmaceuticals and construction sectors are expected to be particularly strong sectors in 2012. However, the financial sector, including investment banking, retail and corporate banking will not enjoy such positive conditions, says the report.
