There are 1.13m jobs vacant in Germany, according to research from the governmental Institut für Arbeitsmarkt- und Berufsforschung (Institute for Labour Market and Occupational Research, IAB).

There are 1.13m jobs vacant in Germany, according to research from the governmental  Institut für Arbeitsmarkt- und Berufsforschung (Institute for Labour Market and Occupational Research, IAB).

This comes the same day as news that the number of people employed in Germany reached to 41.6m in Q4 2011, a record high since 1990 in a country of 81.8m people.The survey also shows that employers are concerned about skills shortages across the country.

IAB research Alexander Kubis says: “Fears over future economic trends do not seem to be realised in the labour market.”
