Toby Culshaw: Diversity and financial returns: are we doomed to failure?

Many firms are pushing to increase their leadership diversity without addressing core cultural issues, which meant they didn’t have diverse leadership in the first place. Or as one senior female leader put it when we discussed this: “The same problems persist – they are simply hiring men with boobs!” This in itself, and the positive action around increasing diversity in leadership, is causing some fundamental issues that, ironically, make it even harder today to ensure a diverse and stable leadership:
