The escalating trade war between the United States and the European Union over steel tariffs is bad news for purchasing professionals, says Sam Covell
Despite vowing that free trade was a cornerstone of his economic agenda, on 5 March, US president George W Bush slapped tariffs of as much as 30 per cent on imported steel products for three years.
