For retail purchasers, the task of getting enough of this year’s top-selling toys on to the shelves began in January. It’s a job demanding all the traditional skills as well as intuition and foresight, finds Helen Riley
The big hit TV show right now is Who Wants to be a Millionaire? and, sure enough, there’s a shiny electronic board game aimed at the Christmas market, complete with flashing lights, official soundtrack and even the voice of host Chris Tarrant asking “Is that your final answer?” and “Do you want to phone a friend?”.
