You can be in trouble with the law for throwing away too many e-mails, and for keeping too many. Yes, it’s as confusing as that, but it’s worth finding out what’s going on.
What does your e-mail inbox resemble most – a library or a skip? You might think it doesn’t matter if your account is a spaghetti of spam, chit-chat and business but it does. Last year, six companies were fined $2 million apiece by the sec because executives couldn’t produce crucial e-mails relating to stock dealings.
