Taking on prejudice

Legal column New Regulations make it unlawful to discriminate on grounds of sexual orientation or belief – so let’s consider these, along with significant changes to existing discrimination law.

Recently, all areas of discrimination law have been amended, and two new sets of Regulations came into force on 1 December 2003 – the Employment Equality (Sexual Orientation) Regulations 2003 and the Employment Equality (Religion or Belief) Regulations 2003. These give effect to the EU Equality Directive.
