Stress-related illness costs industry billions of pounds every year. But, argues Pat Elliot, the solution lies in good people management rather than new laws
In recent years, stress has become one of the most problematic and costly issues facing the business world. Despite a succession of legislation, much of it emanating from Brussels, and the introduction by many organisations of “solutions” such as flexible working hours, childcare allowances and homeworking, stress-related illness continues to rise.
